Sample survey of 4600 households per year (2200 households per year prior to July 2008), running throughout the year. Respondents report all travel in specified two-day period.

Quality of the data Survey based. Household Travel Surveys exclude commercial travel, and tend to underestimate total personal vehicle travel. Response rate (households with full responses from all members): 1989/90=75%; 1997/98=75%; Ongoing survey: 65%-70%.
