Sample survey of 4600 households per year (2200 households per year prior to July 2008), running throughout the year. Respondents report all travel in specified two-day period.

Frequency From 2003, updated annually with four year moving average. Periods run from July to June so 2010-2014 means July 2010 - June 2014.
Disaggregation National
Quality of the data Survey based. Household Travel Surveys exclude commercial travel, and tend to underestimate total personal vehicle travel. Response rate (households with full responses from all members): 1989/90=75%; 1997/98=75%; Ongoing survey: 65%-70%.
