The Ministry of Transport is seeking feedback on a consultation paper about the future of small passenger services in New Zealand. Small passenger services include taxi, private hire, shuttles, dial-a-driver, ridesharing and carpooling services.

Earlier in 2015, the Ministry of Transport’s small passenger services review delivered advice to Hon Craig Foss, Associate Minister of Transport. Ministers of Transport have decided that before they make any decisions on the future of the small passenger services sector, public consultation should take place.

The Ministry of Transport has released a consultation paper that sets out the policy options for the future, and the issues surrounding the options.

Submissions should be made to the Ministry of Transport by 5pm Friday 12 February 2016.
